Hello, and welcome to another installment of Melee Mondays! In these journal entries, I will give you all a taste every week of what I have planned for my dream game, Super Smash Bros. Melee: Masterpiece Edition. Without further ado, let's go!
Finally, we're moving on to the Unlockables!
First Appearance: Mario Bros. (1983)
In-game Appearance: The above image pretty much describes what I want him to look like.
Voice Clips: His entire set is taken straight from Brawl and Smash 4. I never liked how his voice was originally a higher-pitched Mario~
How to Unlock: Clear Stage 1 of Adventure Mode with a 2 on the seconds digit on the clock (XX.X2.xx). If done correctly, you will fight Luigi instead of Mario in the following match.
Alternate Method: Fight in 10 Vs Matches
Luigi "Green-Stache" Mario; Commonly known as "Mr. Player 2." Luigi is the younger brother of Mario, and unfortunately, doesn't get no where near as much spotlight as he does. But that's alright with him; Luigi seems perfectly content with hiding in the crowd. Maybe it has to do with his shy, cowardly nature. Luigi has been known to be scared of a lot of things; especially ghosts! However, his heart of gold gets the best of him when his friends are in danger, which is what encouraged him to save Mario from a ghost-infested mansion! And that wasn't even his first time saving him! Despite being younger than Mario, Luigi is taller, and can jump higher; though, he has trouble keeping his feet firmly planted, as he slides around a lot~
Luigi may be a coward, but in Super Smash Bros., he doesn't pull any punches whatsoever! After leaving his older brother's shadow, he developed his own fighting style that's both eccentric and surreal. His fireballs aren't affected by gravity like Mario's, and he can turn himself into a living missile! His own lack of traction makes him the best wavedasher in the entire game, leading up to many combo possibilities! There's a reason why everyone refers to Luigi as the lean, mean, green machine; because he's a whole 'nother person on the Smash battlefield!
Specials:
Neutral: Fireball
Side: Green Missile
Up: Super Jump Punch
Down: Luigi Cyclone
Final Smash: Poltergust 3000
Up Taunt: strikes a bunch of poses in rapid succession
Side Taunt: stiffens his entire body, and puffs out his chest before gently falling down and balancing on his torso, and saying "pow-pow!"
Down Taunt: bashfully kicks the ground; just be careful he doesn't kick you "by accident"
Notable Changes:
o Luigi's facial expression is much more...expressive~
+ Luigi can also now wall-jump!
o His ground jump is now edited to his Smash 4 variant
+ Green Missile can now be cancelled by either shielding, or by holding the charge for long enough.
+ Fireballs travel farther, and have overall reduced lag.
+ Luigi Cyclone can be propelled off the ground when mashing the button, even when it's not fully-charged.
+ Down Aerial can now spike on the first frame.
+ His dash attack now better juggles enemies, and the final blow deals more knockback.
Alts:
Green & navy- default
White & Green- Fire Luigi
Cyan & blue- resembles Mario's cover artwork for the NES version of Mario Bros.
Pink & red- Luigi as he appears in Wrecking Crew
Orange & turquoise- Mario's boxart appearance for Pinball; hat is instead orange
Yellow & green- closely resembles his appearance from the animated Japanese film, Super Mario Bros.: Peach-hime Kyushutsu Dai Sakusen!
Emerald & indigo- Luigi's in-game appearance from Super Mario World
Purple & black- Waluigi's color scheme
Green, white, & blue- Luigi's outfit from NES Open Tournament Golf
Entrance: Jumps out of a Warp Pipe, and nervously says "Let's-a go~"

How to Unlock: play as Luigi 10 times in Vs Mode
When I revealed Roy early, you all got a taste of what new stages will be added to this game. Now you will be getting a sample of what stages will be returning from games after Melee! This stage from Brawl is based off the same haunted mansion from Luigi's first hit game, Luigi's Mansion. This house is pretty old, so the wooden pillars have become kinda fragile. This, unfortunately, doesn't stop incoming fighters from sabotaging the pillars during their battle, causing the house to collapse on itself until nothing is left. But that's okay; as a haunted mansion, it can just reconstruct itself as if nothing happened.
But arguably, the best and spookiest part of this stage is when all the players spread outside from the mansion...

First Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Trophy Description: There is a legend where a hero garbed in green appeared out of nowhere, and defeated an evil known as Ganon before returning to the nothingness. Years later, the evil Ganon returned to terrorize Hyrule, and the people could do nothing, but pray to the gods. The gods could do nothing, so they flooded Hyrule underwater along with Ganon in hopes that it will keep him imprisoned. Centuries later, a boy from Outset Island named Link leaves his home to rescue his kidnapped sister from the clutches of the Helmaroc King. Little does this boy know that this quest will evolve into something even more...

I don't know about anyone else, but I find the gameplay of the original to feel rather stiff. When I was playing as Luigi to get my own feel on how he plays, and it just hit me that it feels jagged and uncomfortable when trying to input combos or, dare I say it, spam a certain move. If I want this game to appeal to everyone (and most importantly, novices), I need to find a way to smooth out the input of controls without removing any Melee combos. It is a giant personal goal of mine that I improve everything on the main gameplay without removing anything fundamental from it. I expect it to be nigh-impossible, but I'd rather have that than just "plain-impossible."
I hope you enjoyed this week's Melee Monday! Please watch to stay updated with more content. Until then, see ya'!

Another (kind of) Petty Rant
The newest up-and-coming Ultraman series is called "Ultraman R/B," and it will air on Japanese television on July 7. The series will star two new Ultras named "Rosso" and "Blu," and I'm assuming that they will share the spotlight in equal exposure.
My complaint against this show is a very personal and opinionated one, and I wouldn't take anything I say as a genuine threat, or something. My complaint is born solely from jealousy and selfish spite.
The selling gimmick of Rosso and Blu is that they use disks based on other Ultras to change into alternate forms with elemental abilities. There are four known color-coded forms based on fire (red)
Easter
On this very day, Jesus Christ rose from the dead after smelling the faint smell of his mother's totally lit rack of lamb, and once Jesus had smelled it, he came storming out of his tomb. He was followed with a crowd of screams, cheers, and disbelief, and Mother Mary now found herself in a pickle...
And that, my friends, is why rack of lamb is the Holiday Meat of Easter. I've tried it, myself, so I know for a fact why Jesus came back.
Unfortunately, I don't have any April Fools joke to pull out of my ass this year, but I can just say Happy Easter to all of y'all.
Also, there's this grocery store called Winco, and they sell just about any c

So I was gonna make an elf practice meme for you guys, but this guy has beat me to it.
I'll just say I stole it. Merry Christopher Columbus Day.
So this is Goodbye...or so I first thought
Lemme give you a short little blurb: If you didn't know about net neutrality before, then it's too late to anything about it now. This has the power to change how the entire world works, and it will all be for the worst.
Why am I all doom and gloom, you may ask?
Well, it's because I've lost at everything in life. I lose all my arguments, every team I've ever been on or supported has lost, the victories I do get in life are meaningless or void due to certain circumstances, and it seems even the media I like is trash. I wanna be a good director when I grow up; how can I be good if I enjoy Steven Universe??
The point is that: if I'm on the su
